WRONG! My dealer says there is a baler expert at NH. I thought since it was good this 780 would be also. I have always run NH balers and also have a 678 that has 15,000 rolls on the meter. This baler has really been dissapointment. I just can't relace belts every 8 or 10 rolls.

Make sure there is no sharp edges for the net to grab the starter roll and wrap on it. You could weld 1/4" key stock to the starter roll. Im not sure how the NH starter roller is designed, hope this helps. It doesnt sound like much but it really helps when your having trouble getting it to start.
It sounds to me like the sledge is not working and the belts are doing all the work to start the core. The new BR balers do not have a clutch there anymore so just make sure the friction disks are ok and tighten the three bolts on the spring disks all the way tight. This will not work because the oil works its way into the slip clutch. I have seen chain oiler kits installed at the sledge drive chain. It's on the right side and has a short roller chain on it.
